![]() |
Did you know there are a variety of simple landscaping ideas to bring wildlife to your yard that can be implemented without a lot of money or hassle? It's true -- transforming your outdoor living space can be easier and more affordable than you ever thought possible. The first thing you need to do is define your goals and evaluate your outdoor area. For example, what kind of animals are you hoping to attract? Different animals require different types of food and foliage. You may want to do some research about the various types of wildlife that you hope to bring to your yard. Most people seek to attract birds and butterflies.
To bring songbirds to your yard, simply hang a bird feeder and place a bird bath close by. The birds will automatically come to eat at your feeder. You will find various types of bird seed on the market today. Some mixes are economical and simple while others are more expensive and contain fruits and nuts in addition to various types of seed. For hummingbirds, you will need to hang a hummingbird feeder, preferably a red one. Hummingbirds, like butterflies, are attracted to the color red. Speaking of butterflies, planting trumpet shaped flowers in bright colors is a great way to bring these winged beauties to your garden area.
A water garden is a fun landscaping project that can be the perfect place to keep beautiful koi fish. You can have a pond and waterfall in your water garden area. Adding a water garden to your yard adds visual interest and the relaxing element of flowing water. Placing a beautiful flower garden next to the water garden area makes it even more attractive. You might find that birds are attracted to your water garden area. Once in awhile, depending on your location, you may even find a frog or two in the area as well.
There are plenty more simple landscaping areas you can use to make your yard more beautiful and welcoming. Even something as simple as planting shrubs and trees can add beauty to your outdoor area and attract various types of wildlife. You may also want to do some online research or look through some books on the subject of yard landscaping. With a little inspiration, you can find plenty of great ways to improve your landscape and make it more nature-friendly.
